The Best Uraro or Arrowroot Cookies
Ever since I was young, I have always loved to eat uraro, now more popularly called as Arrowroot cookies. It is a heart-shaped cookie made of arrowroot flour. It is usually eaten at merienda or snack time, best paired with either a hot cup of coffee or a hot cup of chocolate. Many other bakeries from different parts of Quezon province sell it. However, I believe that the ones from Rejano’s bakery, a local bakery in Marinduque, taste the best.

The version of uraro from Rejano’s Bakery has a perfect balance of bitterness and sweetness. The bitterness comes from being baked long enough while the sweetness comes from having just the right amount of sugar. It is also better formed; it doesn’t crumble easily, making it less dusty when eating. And the best part of eating their uraro is that it melts in the mouth smoothly, making it more enjoyable to eat compared to other uraros being sold in the market.
Rejano’s Bakery store is conveniently located in the town center of Boac, so if you’re looking for something to bring home as pasalubong or gifts to family and friends after having come from Marinduque, then I highly suggest considering the uraro from Rejano’s Bakery.
