Kimura Seimenjo’s Authentic Udon Noodle Soup

Kimura Seimenjo is a small restaurant a few minute’s walk away from Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. They serve traditional udon noodle soup with various tempura options.

This restaurant is proud of their udon noodle soup, featuring thick homemade udon noodles in a hot flavorful broth with fresh toppings. It’s served with a choice of tempura, freshly deep-fried to a crispy golden brown.

Kimura Seimenjo offers take-out and dine-in with indoor and outdoor seating. My advice is to dine inside and enjoy small talk with the cook and staff, just like we did in March 2023 after our tour of Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. The staff, especially the cook, speak English and are very welcoming. Another advice is to get there early, as seating is limited and it fills up quickly at lunchtime.
